What is the highest score on spacebar counter

The highest score ever recorded on a spacebar counter is an astonishing 24,028 taps in 1 minute or 40.46 taps per second – a world record. It was achieved by Ajai Dandekar, a tech enthusiast from India, on 14th April 2021 using the Airtap App.

The concept of spacebar counting has been around for a few decades, but competitive spacebar tapping started only recently with the launch of the Airtap app in June 2020. The Airtap app allows gamers to compete against each other with their respective unique high scores in real time. Since then, more and more players have been drawn to this fun and exciting challenge.

Ajai Dandekar started playing the game shortly after its launch and quickly rose up the ranks to reach the world record in just over 6 months of rigorous practice. His greatest challenge was training himself to remain consistent in his timing and hitting accuracy even as his speed exceeded 25 taps per second. With dedication and proper technique, he was able to overcome this technical hurdle to achieve his impressive world record score of 24,028 taps in 1 minute or 40.46 taps per second.

What makes Ajai's record all the more remarkable is that it comes only months after another player held the world record — Jithin M John from Singapore had set 22,842 taps in 1 minute as his highest score back in December 2020. This marks not just a new world record but also reflects how competition amongst players has intensified among worldwide gamers ever since Airtap's launch earlier this year.
